Meeting for Pedestrian Path Project - This Saturday

by Brian Bierman

From Mark Evans: Design Division Manager, Kern County Roads Department

What: This is an informational Meeting and Job walk for the Concrete Pedestrian Path through Frazier Mountain Park; We simply want to give the community an idea of what's planned and to provide an opportunity for input. I would expect the meeting to last approx. 2 hours.

When: Saturday Sept 19th, 10 am

Where: Meeting at the Southwest corner of Monterey Trail and Frazier Mountain Park Road (across from the post office)

Design Details: Included in the project at this point - Concrete Pedestrian Path through the Park (from the Post Office to the west end of the Park), Benches, placing Concrete Curb & Sidewalks along the north of Park Drive, Replace the Chain Link Fence along Park Drive, Pave the Street Parking area along the north side of Park Drive; Ped Path Lighting is a consideration ONLY at this time (need to confirm funding is available and an Entity will Maintain the lights).  Also considering the construction of  a "Vehicle Turn Around" area on Park Drive (at the west end of the Park).  Project Timeline: We anticipate opening bids for this project in December and beginning construction in early Spring 2010.

If any of you would like a Concept Drawing of the Pedestrian Path Project or a copy of the "flyer", please send me a fax # or email address (that has the ability to accept a file larger than 5 MB) and I would be glad to send that information.

Please share Saturday's meeting information with any group or individual that might be interested.

If you have any followup questions, please feel free to give me a call.

Thank you.
