ADV Montessori Charter School License Revoked by GSD

by Lloyd Wiens

At their monthly board meeting yesterday, the Gorman JSD School Board revoked the operating license of the Antelope Desert Valley Montessori Charter School license for numerous violations, including the disappearance of substantial funds.  Accounting practices and failure to respond to numerous requests to fix previous violations were sufficient for a unanimous vote by the board to revoke.

Other discussions included substantial increases in transportation costs & contracts issues, hiring of an additional teacher, online instruction coordination, a new Trout in the Classroom natural science project, use of the school van for transportation, interpreters for students, general accounting items and employee health insurance payments.

Enrollment increased from 45 students last semester to 67 this year.
