Los Padres Estates rocked from noon to 8:00 on Sunday. Musicians from the hill, Fresno and L.A. came to honor, support and jam with their good friend Dave Stewart. Dave is an incredible local drummer that has played with worship bands like Prayersong and the El Camino Pines Lutheran Church band, to American Fossil, a classic rock group that has been regularly featured in Pine Mountain Club.
Maybe the word "rocked" is too limited because music went from hymns to hoedown bluegrass, blues to jazz to classic rock, Prayersong Christian to Tom Petty. Local Grammy nominee Steve Hill, monster guitarist Mark Moulin, 26-time gold record artist Colin Cameron, worship vocalists Laurie Bierman (my wife) and Anne Alexander, to name a few, layed out a steady 8-hour concert. Dave was on drums most of the afternoon and evening. Musicians rotated in and out of the elastic band throughout the day.
Why
Dave Stewart has cancer spread through his body. We all got together to spend what time we can to show our appreciation and love for a good friend. Doing something that, after his devotion to Christ and his family, has been an integral part of his life. Even though it isn't his living.
