A Good Man Down

by Brian Bierman

Bob Hubert, a long-time resident of Frazier Park and long-time member of the Frazier Park Evangelical Free Church, passed away at almost 6:00 PM on Sunday, 12/13.  He was at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital with what was first thought to be lymphoma, although the actual ailment was more elusive.  Bob was close to retiring from his long-held position at Amtrack.

He was a sort of gentle giant, known for his kind heart and volunteer spirit.  For some years he was a small bit of competition for the local trash service.  Only he did pickups for free and usually for someone of retirement age to help them save on some of their fixed income.

He his survived by his wife Jill and only daughter Catherine.  Many are praying for his family.

I didn't know Bob well but remember his kindness and friendliness. I can't help thinking that the good a person does lasts forever, even if few remember it here. One less for this world, one more for Heaven.
