Frazier Market robbed at gunpoint

UPDATE 10:57 AM 1/7/2010

Sergeant Mark Brown of our local substation tells The Mountain Daily News that the robbery suspect is a white male in his late 30's to early 40's, slim and 5'5" to 5'9" tall.  He is believed to have stolen "about 200 dollars" but that is unclear.  The suspect was wearing a dark gray hooded sweater.  He was also wearing clear plastic gloves during the incident.  The department is awaiting video of the incident from the Frazier Market security cameras.

A press release from the Kern County Sheriff reads:

At approximately 6:05 pm, a white male entered the Frazier Park Market, at 632 Laguna Trail, Frazier Park, CA, picked up a couple of items and placed them on the counter.  When the clerk opened the register to give the suspect his change, the suspect brandished a black with chrome barreled semi-automatic handgun.

The suspect then grabbed the money out of the register and fled from the store on foot.  At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a fake black beard, mustache and wig.  The suspect was last seen south of Don’s Liquor near the bridge.

The suspect was seen removing his disguise near the bridge and is described as a white male, 5’5” to 5’9”, slim build, shaved head, wearing a gray or silver fleece shirt with a hood.

The loss was an undetermined amount of cash.

Anyone with information should contact the Frazier Park Substation at 661-861-7745.
