Sadness Over Camp Lakota Fire

Girl Scouts of all ages express their sorrow

The following were posted to this site and to our YouTube channel:

You can burn down our house, but you can't burn down our spirit. We'll just tent it in 2010 and have twice as much fun. The Dads

How sad, I camped there when I was only 8.

I am so sad to hear this! I have been going to Camp Lakota for over 10 years with my daughter. So many wonderful memories!

I've camped here as a Girl Scout, worked here as a counselor, and brought my daughter here for Girl Scout camp as well. I cried when I saw the video, but I hope we'll be able to rebuild another lodge filled with love and fun.

i.. i am a camper there.. i? cant bear to watch this...

Camp Lakota? was my BEST childhood memory. Tears.

My niece was one of the campers who was supposed to be staying there tonight. I know they had a great time there this summer. I also? camped there as a young girl scout in the 70's. A very sad loss for the Girl Scouts

This is so sad. I was a camper and counselor in the mid-50's and early 60's. I can still here all the laughter and songs echoing in? her walls.

Those? walls hold so many memories that now will just remain in our hearts.  12 yr. Girl Scout and Gold Award Recipient.

So sad. I went there? every year for 10 years.

this is so sad! i was a camper for 8 years and then i became a counselor when i was old enough. this camp changed my life. anytime i look at all of us sitting down for dinner or out on the? singing steps, i will cry

I? will miss the lodge :(
