Streetscape Project Maintenance/Landscaping

District Vote Postponement Requested

by Lloyd Wiens

Per our sources, the Streetscape Project Maintenance/Landscaping hearing (CSA 100) is being delayed for at least 30 days to garner more support and discuss the critical nature of this project's approval with the community.  CSA 100 is to fund electrical usage and maintenance for the newly installed features in "downtown" Frazier Park.  Maintenance includes landscaping and watering.  CSA 100

was scheduled to be heard at the Board of Supervisors meeting tomorrow but a motion to delay this hearing will be made.

Not getting CSA 100 approved could possibly result in the cancellation of the bike path and beautification expansion grant funds currently allocated for Frazier Park improvements.  Those funds are intertwined with the TEA grant program,  which funded the majority of the Streetscape Project.

A reevaluation of the structure, services and scope of CSA 100 has also been suggested by community residents.

UPDATE

A request for the item to be continued for 30 days will be made.

We just need the property owners to send in their ballots and support the assessment so that we can have a nicely landscaped and maintained functioning streetscape.
