A group of students met this morning at Frazier Mountain High School to pray for our country in general and specifically the president, congress, courts, our military, schools and FMHS in particular. Students invited Pastor Rich Smith of the local Calvary Chapel to lead the time and they prayed for 1/2 an hour in front of the school near the flag pole; the group growing as time progressed. The event was organized by a handful of Christian students for the National Day of Prayer.
Students expressed concern and disagreement with the current trajectory of our government and courts. Many others looked on curiously as they walked past; some joining the group and others walking away once they realized what was happening.
Frazier Park Assembly of God opened its doors at 6:00 this morning and plans to keep them open through at least 6:00 this evening. Several local pastors, including Fred Rose, Rich Smith, Dave Swarthout and Larry Lemburg, took shifts as local believers, regardless of church affiliation, came and went throughout the day. Bob Anderson was encouraged to see cross-denomination participation.
