Long-time resident of Frazier Park, Jim Schaffer, was in court on August 24 for three counts of "lewd or lacivious acts with a child under 14 years". The result was a "motion to continue trial date". The next hearing is scheduled for 10/9/2009.

I'm sorry, I never meant to suggest that the Mountain Daily News portrayed this defendant as guilty. Not at all. There have been other, more sensationalistic accounts elsewhere. I meant that in general, this is the way we are supposed to view a criminal defendant.
I agree with Babs. There have ''been other, more sensationalistic accounts elsewhere." We felt those comments were very much out of line!
